  • 2019 Mike Morris Memorial Invitational
Our first outdoor long course meet went very well. We were about 60% best times and did a great job as the sessions seemed short, but we continued to put great effort in. Six new team records led by Brooke Colachico, Jenna Brassfield, Sydney Alamein and Kaitlyn Landis setting the open 200 free record. Great job ladies!! Sydney set three records (13-14 and open 200 IM and 13-14 100 back) and Cash Hagedorn set two records (11-12 50 breast and 200 IM). Several "B" and "A" times highlighted the meet. Biggest drop of the weekend was Jenna's 800 where she dropped a minute and nine seconds. Also, we increased our VCC score for long course.

Broden got a "B" time in the free and we passed our highest VCC score in team history.

  • 2019 BDST Jellybean Invitational
The 2019 BDST Jellybean Invitational was held for the first time and the Blue Dolphins swam very well for early in the season and early training. Over 60% best times surprised the coaching staff who were delighted with the efforts and results. New events and new swimmers highlighted by Olivia setting a new 15-18 women's 100 breast stroke team record and she was joined by Sydney Alamein who set three team records with swim in the 100 fly (13-14 women) and 100 breast (13-14 women and open women). Emmy Pfankuch dropped thirty seconds in her 200 IM at the end of the meet.

Special thanks to Lisa Hagedorn for putting together this fun and successful meet. Thanks to all the volunteers and a special thanks to our officials (Matt Beasley - meet ref, Hugh Genualdi, Cali Beasley and Shylow Landis) since without them the meet doesn't go on. Now we are officially started with our long course season!!!

  • Northwest Age Group Regionals
Sydney Alamein swam up in Federal Way at the Northwest Age Group Regional meet. This brings the best age group swimmers from as far away as Hawaii and Alaska, Montana, Oregon, Idaho and Washington. She had best times in the 500 free and 200 fly. She set team records in the 200 fly in both the 13-14 and open categories. Her mile on the last day was her second fastest of her season. It was a great meet and we hope that others will set this as another step goal for next year.

  • OSI State Championships
This past weekend, the Blue Dolphins Swim Team closed out the short course season by competing at the Oregon Swimming 11-14 State Championships at the Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis.

Sydney, Taylor, Lonny and Gentry swam at the state champs. Cali so graciously posted their results but I will add that Sydney swam new records in the 1650 free, 200 fly and 100 back in the 13-14 age group. The 200 fly was also a new open record. The girls swam great all weekend with a team score second only to 2014 in points.

Coach Maxwell added that this was a great job by everyone this season, as the team will now turns its focus to the long course season that begins on March 9 in Lebanon.
