What a great way to finish up our long course swimming in Oregon. Sydney Alamein, Taylor Hagedorn, Kaitlyn Landis and Lonny Stork all swam individual events, which I believe is a first for the team in long course. They all swam very well with Sydney setting the 100 fly team record in time trials and Taylor setting the 400 free ( which also included Lonny and Sydney going under the old record ). They combined to swim the 400 free relay which is the first in a very long time in an age group and not open. They set the open 400 free relay team record. Great job girls and way to do it together in practice and competition !!

A number of Blue Dolphins ventured down to Roseburg for their annual summer meet. We swam very well over all with several team records and a lot of best times. Led by Kaitlyn Landis, Sydney Alamein and Olivia Hale who all had best times in every event there were a ton of best time. Taylor Hagedorn joined the under 30 club with a 29.53 to lead off the relay. Team records were plentiful with Taylor setting the 11-12 500 free, Gentry Hagedorn with the 9-10 50 fly and 100 breast joining Sydney with two in the 11-12 200 free and 100 fly and Daniel Glade with six - 15-18 50 free, 100 free and 400 IM which also set records in the open group in the same events. Congrats to everyone that went down !!

Gentry Hagedorn represented the Blue Dolphins very well at the recent Championship meet in Beaverton at the THPR pool. She swam well in the short course meter pool, different than usual long course meter pool of the season, with three top 11 places in the 50 and 100 fly and 200 IM. Well done G !!

We didn't swim as well as we did in the earlier meets but there will be those meets where life gets in the way. Several swimmers did fair well in Albany. We had five team records set - Cash Hagedorn in the 9-10 50 fly, Lonny Stork in the 11-12 200 IM and David Beasley setting three in the 13-14 100 back, 200 back and 400 free. Several had multiple best times ( Maddie Altenburg - 4, David - 3, Vasili Karatzas - 4, Savannah King - 5 and Lonny - 6. We are looking forward to stepping back into our successful mode come the TEAM Eugene meet coming up in July.

Several swimmers with B times and better swam in Corvallis this past weekend. We swam about 75% best times with a lot of racing and learning as the weekend went along. Our lone boy David Beasley swam well through out with best times but more importantly seeing that he can compete with the best in the state. David set new team records in the 50 free, 100 back and 400 free. Our girls also swam very well. The 11-12 realy of Kaitlyn Landis, Taylor Hagedorn, Sydney Alamein and Lonny Stork set new team records in the 200 free and 200 medley relays. Well done ladies!!  Gentry Hagedorn set a new 200 IM record with Lonny stork setting the 11-12 record in the 50 fly with Taylor Hagedorn and Sydney Alamein also going under the old record. They all thought doing a fly relay would be the way to go. This was finished off with Sydney setting the 100 fly record. Great weekend for the team with some new A times and new B times. A great deal of learning also took place as several learned the advantage to cooling down after a race - something that will benefit them and the team mates to follow as they move forward.

Sorry this one is late.

This meet went very well with us swimming well over 80% best times and having a great time. Eight individual team records were set and one relay record. Congrats to the 11-12 girls on the Medley Relay as they set a new record in the 400 with a great swim. The relay was led off by Maddie Altenburg and included Taylor Hagedorn, Sydney Alamein and Lonny Stork. We also congratulate Vasili Karatzas for his first team record in the 200 IM. He was followed with records by David Beasley as he continues his assault on the 11-12 boys records before he ages up, Cash Hagedorn as he set two new records, Gentry Hagedorn with two and Sydney Alamein with two also. Great meet over all and you can see the results, new records and all time standing on this site.

MAC Long Course Invite

We finished short course with a bang and exploded into long course. The MAC Invite went great. You expect to see improvement after not swimming long course for 7 months but we exceeded expectations that I had. We swam just short of 90% best times with many getting best times with every swim. Fourteen new team records - yes 14 !!! Taylor Hagedorn set the 11-12 girls 50 fly record and Gentry Hagedorn set the 9-10 girls 50 fly records. Sydney Alamein set two her self ( 11-13 girls 100 breast and the 100 fly ). Taylor and Lonny Stork also went under the old record. Cash Hagedorn bettered his sisters by setting 4 new records in the 9-10 boys age group ( 50 free, 100 back, 50 breast and 100 breast. Then David Beasley assaulted the record board by setting 6 new records in the 11-12 boys ( 50, 100 and 200 frees, 50 and 100 back and the 50 fly ). Sydney, David, Jolie-Rae Ford, Gentry, Taylor, Kaitlyn Landis and Lonny all had multiple times that were "B" or better with Sydney, David, Gentry and Lonny with "A" times. There were 23 times that had double digit drops including 4 swims that dropped 30 or more seconds with Taylor leading the group by dropping over 56 seconds in the 50 back. I have to guess she hadn't swam that in a while. Well done to everyone that went and swam so well and thanks for a great start to our long course season.

10 and unders, 11-14 and Senior Champ weekends

Our State Championship weekend couldn't have gone any better for those that qualified. Gentry started the rush with a best time in her 50 fly at 10 and unders just missing an old record by .04 seconds. It's coming down shortly. The 11-14 Champs had Lonny Stork and Sydney Alamein. Lonny set a new team record in her 50 fly and got a new "A" time while time trialing the 50 free. Sydney had a best time in her 50 free and placed 8th overall in the 500 free while setting a new team record by about 15 seconds. Not too bad after having a break in her arm and being cleared to dive just a day before. We finished up with the Senior Champs with Ellie Dacar and Jolie-Rae Ford. Ellie got started in her weekend by time trialing the 100 fly to a best time, the 200 IM to another best time and dropping 2.5 seconds off her 100 free. She then set a new team record in the 200 fly. Jolie swam in six events and had almost all season best times. She placed 5 in the 50 free and wanted to be considered a sprinter and then finished the weekend with a second in the mile. Guess she tends more toward the distance events. These girls represent the Blue Dolphins incredibly well and we should be very proud of them, I know I am.
