The Blue Dolphins at 11-14 champs in Corvallis swam very well. Our 800 free relay (Lonny Stork, Gentry Hagedorn, Kaitlyn Landis, and Sydney Alamein) set a new open record of 8:30.65. Gentry had a best time in her 100 fly. Kaitlyn swam well through her hip injury to just miss her best times in her 500 and 1650 free. Very gutsy effort on her part. I hope others will follow in that commitment!! Lonny was 3 of 5 best times (500 free - 11 second drop, 2 and 400 IMs). Just missed a best time in her 200 back by 1 one hundredth. Very good weekend for her. Sydney was 4 of 6 best times (500 free, 100 fly, 200 free and 400 IM). She set records in 13-14 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free - going under 2 minutes for the first time ) and open 100 fly. Well done to everyone and thanks to Hugh Genualdi and Matt Beasley for officiating. Thanks to all that timed. We were well recognized through every level of the meet.

These swimmers had great meets with a majority of best times - Grayson Dalke with 5-of-6, Gentry Hagedorn; who went 4-of-6, and Cadin McMillian; who was 6-of-7. We also had new team records set in the 15-18 girls 200 IM and 200 Open Medley Relay (Lonny Stork, Sydney Alamein, Gentry Hagedorn and Taylor Hagedorn). Special congrats to Grayson dropping over 10-plus seconds in the 200 fly, Cadin McMillian with a 10-plus second drop in the 200 back, and Cash Hagedorn with a 22-second drop in the 200 back - with the 200 back being the last event of the weekend. At the Corvallis Aquatic Team BC AG Open during the first weekend in January, we swam very well. Many best times and many really good swims for where we are in our training. Much was learned about training and how we can grow as swimmers. There were 7 team records set (Open 400 free relay - Sydney Alamein, Kaitlyn Landis, Lonny Stork and Taylor Hagedorn and Sydney set 6 in the 13-14 and Open 200 IM, 400 IM and 100 breast). Congrats to these girls! We also had some of our younger Blue Dolphins close in on our Top 5 list. Watch out for them in the future. Congrats to Sydney as she won High Point for the 13-14 girls. Quite an achievement for her and the work that group is putting in as we never do it alone.

The IMR/IMX meet in Canby was a wonderful opportunity to swim all the events in these USA Swimming recognition programs. We swam about 60% best times and did a great job in short times and many events. The IM's were the strength of the weekend. A great experience for all those who took up the challenge. Congrats to Grayson Keene on two new records in 9-10 100 fly and 200 IM.

2019 CAT Senior Open

The Blue Dolphins were very well represented at the Senior Open in Corvallis. Sydney, Taylor, Kaitlyn and Lonny were entered and swam great. Six team records were set and we swam about 90% best times. Great racing produced multiple finals swims, been a while to have so many final swims, and then best times again was tremendous.

2019 Pumpkin Sprint Meet

The meet in Lincoln City went very well and we had some great races. Up and down the group swam a lot of best times (around 90% plus). We don't keep short course meter records, but the overall meet was a tremendous success. For the first time since I've been here as coach, we finished second in a meet with a large number of teams and 200 kids. Very well done to everyone. Congrats to Addley Condron for her "B" times this past weekend.

2019 AAA Turkey Dive Invitational

Highlighted by Gentry Hagedorn and Grayson Keene winning turkeys in the after meet part of the 2019 AAA Turkey Dive Invitational, we swam pretty well overall. Two new team records (Taylor Hagedorn 15-18 400 IM and Sydney Alamein 13-14 200 back) and several new "A" and "B" times. More importantly than the times, we swam with great character and our hard work showed. Really proud of our kids and parents who stepped up and helped the meet run smoothly. Great job across the board and great improvement by our team. Check the new additions on this site and the bulletin board.

After our first meet of the short course season, we are showing the hard work by so many is paying off. Congratulations to Grayson Keene for breaking the team record in the 50 back and moving up the top 5 lists in the others. He also got an 'A' time in the back and was joined by Sydney Alamein who had two 'A' times. Five others got 'B' times as well. Several kids swam their first meets and they did a great job. Much to look forward to this season.

2019 Seahorse Invitational

In the last meet of the season, the Blue Dolphins Swim Team swam at the Seahorse Invite in Newport. The highlight was the bonfire on the beach on Saturday night, but we had some great swims. The meet began with Brooke Colachico dropping 43 seconds in the 500 followed by Madison Hanson dropping 35 and Kaitlyn Landis dropping 14 in hers. Madison had best times in every event and dropped over 95 seconds total. It was a great time for everyone that competed. Great way to end the season and a lot of fun!
